WHY IS LINUX THE BEST OPERATING SYSTEM?

In this world either you have used Linux in some part of your life, or you have never been out of your comfort zone. Many People ask me why I love Linux - Is it because I love Linus Torvalds in general? Yes, I do :). Or is it because I am paid to do so. The answer is no to both. In this article, we are going to see what Linux offers to you and why I love it.

Whenever the word Linux OS is in a sentence people automatically associate it with coding and a thing that looks very complex called The Terminal. But Linux is just a simple OS if you do not get scared by the Terminal. Now Terminal is the heart of Linux it is very powerful and works like a charm you can skip multiple clicks by just typing a simple command you can upgrade the whole system and its app with just one command. As a person who does programming it is very important for me and helps me a lot but how is it useful for you if you are not programming? The biggest advantage of Terminal is it gives you control over the whole system and you can fix anything with just a few lines, and this gives it an upper edge over other OS. Here is why it is the best OS

1.Control over your system

I started my Linux journey with Ubuntu 18.04 it was my first try I was already feeling in control of what I am doing there are no useless apps pre-installed (Ubuntu gives you an option to chose so you can get the default apps). If you do not like Gnome, you can change to KDE. You can customize your system according to your requirements.

2. Less Ram

Linux takes less ram for the system so you can run more apps without worrying about RAM, some distros of Linux can run on even 1Gb of RAM.

3.Ability to install windows apps.

You can easily install Windows apps using a software called Wine, so you can enjoy the comfort of your apps with customizations of Linux.

4. KDE Connect.

This is a plugin for Linux where you can seamlessly share stuff from mobile to your computer and easily share stuff and get notifications on your computer, one of the excellent features is when you copy something in one device it is also copied for the second device making intra-device copy-pasting possible.

5.Choices

When you shift to Linux you are not expected to stick to your distro no matter how much you do not like it there are 500+ distros to chose from all very customizable and tweakable.

6. It is open source.

You do not have to spend money to buy Linux OS however you can donate to your favorite distro if you like or help them with development. Being opensource you need not wait for any company officials to send solutions for your problem millions of users in the community make fixing things very easy.

The thing about Linux is people fear it before using it and people who used it are forever a fan. I am writing this on Linux (Pop OS), and I can tell you no matter what kind of work you do Linux will have everything you need available for you. So, take a long breath search for which distro satisfies your all requirements and just dual boot or make a fresh install (If you want to be fully committed) and just enjoy full control of your OS for the rest of your life.
